# I Forgot My Password. How Do I Create a New One?

You create a new password on the [I Forgot My Password](https://lapac.empregare.com/pt-br/candidato/esqueci-senha) page. First, a link is sent by email. If you no longer have access to that email, you can receive a code via WhatsApp or SMS.

## By Email

1. On the sign-in screen, enter your email or CPF, tap **Continue**, and at the password step, tap **I Forgot My Password**. The link is sent immediately to the registered email. You can also open the **I Forgot My Password** page, enter your email or CPF, and tap **Send Link**.
2. Open the email titled **Password Recovery - Empregare** and tap the link.
3. Under **Create Your New Password**, fill in **New Password** and **Confirm New Password** and tap **Save New Password**. You will be logged into your account.

The link is valid for 2 days and can only be used once. If you see **This link is no longer valid**, tap **Request a new link**.

## What the New Password Must Be

- Between 6 and 25 characters.
- At least 1 letter and 1 number.

## No Access to the Registered Email

On the **Verify Your Email** screen, tap **I don’t have access to this email**. We will send a 6-digit code via WhatsApp to the phone number on file (if WhatsApp is unavailable, it will be sent by SMS). The code is valid for 10 minutes. With it, you can log in, create a new password, and check your contact details, where you can update your email.

If you also no longer have that phone, enter your email or CPF on the **I Forgot My Password** page and tap **I lost access to both email and phone** (at the WhatsApp step, it is **I don’t have access to this number**). You will answer questions about your registration and, at the end, register a new email and phone number.

## Change Password While Logged In

Go to [Settings](https://lapac.empregare.com/pt-br/candidato/configuracoes) > **Password** > **Change Password**, enter your **Current Password** and **New Password**, and tap **Save Password**. Other devices where your account was logged in will be logged out within 6 hours.

## If It Doesn’t Work

- Email didn’t arrive: check your spam folder and promotions tabs, wait 60 seconds, and tap **Resend Email**.
- Multiple consecutive password errors will block login for a few minutes. You can wait or create a new password now.
- If you see **You do not have a registered resume with the provided information**: check the email or CPF entered. If you don’t have an account yet, create one at **Create My Free Account**.
